Our open box offers have passed our 11-point inspection which means they do NOT have the following when we ship them out:
- bent/warped rim or basket
- wrinkled/warped/creased cone
- coil-rub
- non-standard incursion and excursion under electrical load
They may have been hooked up or installed into an amp and played for testing/brief trial.
Beyond our open box discount, we further discount depending upon the degree of cosmetic or other damage (that would also not be expected to impact speaker function) to the manufacturer box or speaker.

This particular one listed here may vary from the stock photo above due to – due to cosmetic or minor issues with the manufacturer’s box that should not effect the function of the speaker. It shows cosmetic signs of being shipped once already. We may reinforced/repair the box internally to secure the speaker for transport.

This guitar speaker is in the original box from the manufacturer, However, this is an amped up twist on a legendary and definitive late 1960’s-era guitar speaker – the famous G12M Greenback guitar speaker. It is being manufactured by Celestion in Ipswich, England.
No matter what size cabinet you want to complete, these 12″ Celestion G12M-65 CREAMBACK 8 Ohm guitar speakers will look great and sound better at the perfect twelve inch size. At 65 Watts, this guitar speaker can handle pedals and/or effects processors – and still provide the vintage tone to accompany your tube amplifier.
The G12M Greenback is perhaps the definitive vintage Celestion ceramic magnet guitar speaker. Developed in the mid-sixties, it was quickly adopted by players like Hendrix, Clapton, Beck and Page, who typified the louder and more aggressive blues rock playing styles that came to characterize that era. The G12M-65 Creamback produces the familiar woody G12M tone, but handles greater power making it ideally suited for today’s amps, when a vintage tone is desired. The increased power handling brings with it low end grunt complementing the warm and vocal mid range, crunchy upper- mids and sweet, refined highs.

I purchased this based on the fact that this was meant to be a higher power handling version of the Greenback. What makes this great is how it sounds in a 1-12 open back Mesa cabinet. There is a little more sparkle, less Ice-pick, and a nice boost to the useful low end. Sounds similar to my M-25 Heritage Greenbacks in my TA-30. Sounds great with my Mini Rec, and Mark 5. I’ve also replaced one Vintage 30 (16 ohm) in my 2-12 Vertical Rec Slant cabinet, and so far, love it too!
