The G12M Greenback has evolved over the decades but still retains its essential, sought- after tone.Angus Young has been a Greenback devotee since the early days of AC/DC. This model is voiced with additional broad mid-range attack and restrained top-end to give a forward, punchy attitude to chords and a searing lead tone without fizz. With its well-controlled low end it can be used singly in low-powered amps, or in multiples for high-power rock heads. It’s an ideal guitar speaker to bring drive and definition to modern high gain amps.

Description

This Speaker

This returned speaker has been gently installed, but otherwise looks new.  There are no other stickers or cosmetic blemishes on the OEM box that or cover or obfuscate any OEM print, especially the UPC/MPN sticker on the OEM box (which is legible) .

Inquire about volume discounts if quantity permits.  These open box speakers vary in condition, deviating from the stock photo in that the following ways:

  • OEM box
    1. cosmetic – stickers or sticker remnants -which do not cover the UPC sticker.
    2. minor structural blemishes such as dents or small punctures, where the speaker was not affected.
  • Speaker itself may show cosmetic scuffs or signs of previous installation or handling.

This speaker has passed our 11-point inspection which means it does NOT have the following when we ship them out:

  • bent/warped rim or basket
  • wrinkled/warped/creased cone
  • coil-rub
  • non-standard incursion and excursion under electrical load
    *It may have been hooked up or installed into an amp and played for testing/brief trial.

Made in England

Celestion’s production of the G12M Greenback 25W moved back to Ipswich, England.  The first of the new English-made arrived in April of 2018.  The G12M Greenback 25W were, in previous years, made/assembled in China. If you are looking for English craftsmanship in assembling the same speaker, this is for you. 

Really made in UK?

It says “Made in UK” on the unopened manufacturer box, and on the thick manufacturer’s sticker on the side of the speaker’s back cover.  See examples of both in the product photo.  That photo’d speaker is an opened box but you will be shipped a NIB, unopened box.
