This open-box return has been inspected and tested. While the box is open, we may internally reinforce the box to better secure the speaker during shipping. The OEM box and speaker may have cosmetic, and/or other minor issues (that should not impede it’s function) that may deviate from the stock photo in this listing.

This Item

No cosmetic or structural damage to the OEM box, which was opened to inspect the speaker. The remnants of one sticker do not completely obfuscate the UPC. The speaker and the box is in great shape. The speaker appears to have been gently installed.

Quality Assurance

Our open box offers have passed our 11-point inspection which means they do NOT have the following when we ship them out:

bent/warped rim or basket
wrinkled/warped/creased cone
coil-rub
non-standard incursion and excursion under electrical load
They may have been hooked up or installed into an amp and played for testing/brief trial

Hand-built in the UK

The OEM claims above are substantiated by the “MADE IN U.K” printed on the the sticker of each speaker’s OEM box (see photo), and the sticker on the speaker magnet itself (see photo). Since these are “New in Box”, the speakers in the photo are stock photos. The stock photos at https://celestion.com/product/g10-creamback/ show that the full stickers on the back of the magnet read “Celestion International”. Some have inquired if it will read, “Ipswich” or specify the exact manufacturer location here – like the old days. It does not. This designation appears to no longer be useful in determining whether they are currently being made in UK or elsewhere. At the same web page, Celestion further clarifies the issue by writing:
